Space Suit Contractor and Manufacturer

VTI is able to manufacture space suits built for the critical application of protecting individuals from the rigors of space flight.

Materials Used:

A spacesuit is made from a variety of raw materials. Fabric materials include a wide range of synthetic polymers. The innermost layer is made of Nylon tricot fabric. Another layer is made of spandex, a stretchy, wearable polymer. There is also a layer of urethane-coated nylon used for pressurization,  a pressure-restraining layer typically made of Dacron, a type of polyester, and Neoprene, a type of sponge rubber. Aluminized Mylar, Gortex, Kevlar, and Nomex are also some of the other synthetic fabrics commonly used.
