VTI produces many of the demanding Mil-Spec soft goods (sewn products) and air holding or polymer film products that are used in today’s defense industry. These include dry gear products for Army ground forces as well as fighter pilot anti-G suits for the Air Force and Navy. The textiles and films are used together or separately depending on product specifications to keep gear, soldiers, and pilots safe.
Mask Carrier Bag
As chemical weapons continued to be a threat back at the turn of the millenium, US troops needed to be protected and were armed with gas masks. At the same time, US government contractors sought a supplier to manufacture a durable, high quality bag in high volume. The contractor ultimately selected VTI. The investment to manufacture to the required volume was significant, but VTI stepped up and purchased an ETON material delivery system to ensure steady volume over the long length of the contract. That material delivery system is still in use today making the same product at a sustained volume and to very demanding specifications.
Why Choose VTI?
VTI provided the effort needed to manufacure a high quality, high precision, and highly reliable pressurized anti-G suit to two branches of the US Armed Forces. The Navy, Air Force, and Air Force Thunderbirds selected VTI to manufacture the Advanced Technology Anti-Gravity Suit (ATAGS) for their pilots. The garment is a life critical product that must pressurize on demand without leaking or rupturing. VTI has been trusted to produce the air holding pressurized trouser for this suit for over 10 years. Other suppliers of this suit have been vetted and pared down. VTI is often the the sole source supplier of this product due to its complexity.
VTI complies with government and DoD required standards to include the Berry Amendment, NIST, ITAR, and FAR/DFARS.
